Canyon Lake is one of three lakes located along the scenic Apache Trail (portions unpaved). From Canyon Lake, the trail winds along the Salt River to Apache Lake, and then, finally, to Roosevelt Lake. Despite being unpaved for most of the way, the Apache Trail boasts breathtaking scenery and is well worth the trip.
