These pictures were sent in by an anonymous contributor. He writes: "Havant... has two claims to fame. It was, until recently, a major centre of tampon production for Proctor and Gamble (production for the British market has now moved to Ukraine and Hungary). It was also the site of a remarkable battle between two rival railway companies that each wanted to connect their track to London while disconnecting the other’s. The first pair of steel fittings can be found in the modern bus station, from which buses depart to all local attractions. The other pair is in the park, a few steps away. Our anonymous contributor notes that these are electrically earthed to avoid nasty surprises for users."
